Hurricane Milton made landfall Wednesday evening near Sarasota as a Category 3 storm, packing sustained winds of 120 mph. As it moved inland, it weakened to a Category 1 hurricane. Although the storm’s peak has passed, damaging winds and heavy rainfall are forecast to persist through this morning.

More than 3 million households and businesses are without power (PowerOutage.us), which has far-reaching implications for our network infrastructure. Our storm response team is prepared to swiftly and safely evaluate the storm’s impact and restore service once authorities give the all-clear. For your safety:

  • Preserve your phone battery to ensure you can stay connected and up to date on storm location and any emergency alerts.
  • Avoid downed communication or power lines and report any issue you see.
